The aim of Stichting Biobank Oost Nederland (STIBION) is to enable and support research and development of methods for health monitoring and early detection of diseases.

The importance of health monitoring is changing healthcare from a reactive to a proactive system. The purpose of health monitoring is to detect serious illnesses early before physical problems arise. Early detection of illnesses increases the chance of a successful recovery, reduces the burden on the patient and the environment and reduces the costs for the society.
